Matt Mavrick brings over 15 years of experience across cybersecurity, IT leadership, and utility broadband operations, with a unique blend of military discipline and real-world execution in the electric cooperative space.

Most recently, Matt served as Director of IT and Fiber Operations Superintendent at Miami-Cass REMC, where he led technology strategy, network operations, and cybersecurity initiatives supporting both electric and fiber broadband services. His work sits at the intersection of infrastructure, operations, and security; ensuring that critical systems are not only functional, but resilient and scalable.

In parallel, Matt has spent over a decade with the United States Department of Defense as a Cybersecurity Specialist, providing hands-on experience in securing complex environments, managing risk, and operating within highly regulated frameworks.

His background also includes service in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Electrician and Bioenvironmental Engineer, where he developed a strong foundation in systems thinking, precision, and mission-critical operations; skills he continues to apply in today’s increasingly digital utility landscape.

Matt holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Excelsior University and a Bachelor of Science in Software Development & Security from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Matt is known for his practical, grounded approach—bridging the gap between technical complexity and operational execution to help organizations move forward with clarity and confidence.
