Robert “Rob” Schwartz brings over 25 years of leadership experience in the electric utility industry, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence, infrastructure development, and strategic growth. As former CEO of Miami-Cass REMC, Rob led the organization through a period of significant transformation, combining disciplined operations with forward-looking broadband and infrastructure initiatives.
During his tenure as CEO, Rob directed enterprise-wide strategy, financial performance, and regulatory compliance while strengthening relationships with board leadership, community stakeholders, and industry partners. He successfully launched a broadband expansion initiative, securing grant funding covering approximately 30% of project costs—demonstrating his ability to align public funding, operational execution, and long-term member value.
Prior to his role as CEO, Rob served as Director of Operations, where he led planning, engineering, and maintenance of outside plant operations. He oversaw capital planning, procurement, and fleet management, while improving operational performance and reducing right-of-way cycle times by nearly 40%. His leadership also included implementing GIS systems and managing advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), positioning the organization for scalable growth.
